I read posts from several years ago that somebody built their own atc, but it had a few issues at speeds around 20k. Looking for a solid, stable design. Best, Jim It is quite possible to build a good plywood CNC. Unfortunately your design has many weaknesses. It seems the people inevitably start - designing a CNC that looks like they think a CNC router should look like. Many of the early DIY CNC router designs are very poor but are still around and influencing current designs. Purchasing the right linear rails for a home made cnc router table Guys , I was debating to build a Joe's CNC , and while Joes V bearing Evolution is all that I would probably ever require, the more I study , I'm certain I could build a cnc table myself using square block linear rails , and CNCRP pro series rack and pinion .
I intend to design and build a vertical (or near vertical) 4' x 8' CNC router that is sufficiently beefy to mill aluminium or take deep and wide cuts in wood. I'm actually against using wireless keyboards with my CNC, it just doesn't feel right considering a lot can go wrong (which is sad considering most keyboard/mouse combos are wireless, at least those on Cool Gadgets at the Right Price - Worldwide Free Shipping - .
